The cycle paths   are a variety of predominantly circular tracks which were assembled by cyclists of our region. There are not only bicycle routes that were built for cycling in particular but also farm tracks and forest roads. These tracks are published to make them accessible to visitors and local cyclists.

But there are also special cycle routes for cyclists, which predominantly have a good road surface, e.g. the ER that goes around the “Edersee”, the ER16 between the dam of the lake and Fritzlar (a town) and other bicycle routes of the communities/municipality near the lake .

Our cycle paths (“Edersee - Radwanderwege” - see 1^st line) are located in a varied landscape, which means the bicyclist or hiker can cycle or walk through open country, meadows, fields as well as mixed forests. Hilly routes alternate with flat routes in the valley. The reservoirs of the region and the idyllic river valleys also provide relief and refreshment in summer: a peaceful  landscape that is perfect for relaxation. And don’t forget to bring some food and drink: You’ll need them to cope with some of the longer sections of the route.

There are also pretty little timber-framed towns and villages in the vicinity and the “Edersee”  for visitors who need more activity. Here, visitors can find a wide and diverse choise of tourist attractions and culinary pleasures.
